IV Waste, the waste hauling company owned by Sidney Torres IV, will take over trash services in Harahan next year.
Harahan’s contract with Ramelli Waste was set to expire at the end of the year, Mayor Tim Baudier said on Friday.
Of the five bids submitted by waste management companies, including Ramelli, IV Waste had the lowest price tag and scored highest on technical evaluations, Baudier said.
“It was time for the contract to come out for bid, and everyone had their fair shot,” he said.
